Shy bookstore owner Jane Finch grew up hiding in the margins of her own life while her vibrant, adventure-loving sister, Samantha, dominated every plotline. She’s made peace with it, unlike Sam’s business partner, Caleb, who’s always nudging Jane to go after what she really wants. Why should she care what blunt, brash Caleb thinks? They’ve never had much in common, except for Sam.

After tragedy strikes, they don’t even have that.

Caleb can’t quite remember when Sam’s little sister stopped being like a surrogate sibling to him and became just…Jane. She’s the most intriguing woman he’s ever met, and so much sexier and stronger than she thinks. On the emotional journey to honor Sam’s memory, the spark they’ve tried to deny becomes an inferno. This journey was meant to be an ending, but will they discover an unexpected new beginning?

I originally gave this a 3 star rating, but after having listened to the audio version for the second time, I'm changing it to a 4 star rating.

I thoroughly enjoyed this plot and the characters. Essentially an opposites attract kind of story with some extra drama added in. It's a quick and good read if you are trying to get out of a reading slump.

What grabbed me from the start was that our heroine owns a bookstore and is super bookish. I love stories like this. Jane is completely settled in her life - happy with her career and her routine. She's the quiet and timid one, while her sister, Sam, is the loud and adventurous one. Until one day that spark is gone with her sister's death.

Caleb, Sam's business partner in an adventure based travel company, tried to get Jane out of her shell to help honour Sam's wishes to have her ashes spread off a mountain. There is an intensity between Caleb and Jane throughout the entire story - that kind of tension that others must be able to feel in the air. It's incredibly sexy and adds to the urgency of wanting them to just finally admit they want each other in more ways then one.

It's like they are meant for each other, but are afraid to admit it since they feel like they should never be together out of respect for Sam. To that I say, BAH! Yes, they are opposites - bookish, nerdy Jane and dapper, adventurous cowboy Caleb. Not a lot in common, but somehow they compliment each other. Not sure I'd call them my OTP, but they are pretty amazing together.

If you love the kind of book where a guy/girl friendship turns into more or opposites attract then this just might be right up your alley. It's a very quick read and enjoyable. Lots of bookish references including Anne of Green Gables and Harry Potter!

Thanks again to my friends at Thomas Allen & Son for the review copy!

About the Author:
Abigail Strom started writing stories at the age of seven and has never been able to stop. She lives in New England with her family, who are incredibly supportive of the hours she spends hunched over her computer. She loves to hear from readers.

Like all writers I'm a reader, too, and that's why I'm on Goodreads. I read everything, but especially romance, YA, mystery, sci fi, and fantasy.-source
