From a fugitive vampire forced to trust a boy who might work for the group bent on destroying her to the legendary romance of two immortals whose love compels them to risk everything, this heart-pounding collection brings new meaning to the words "love you forever." Whether you're into romances that are dark and moody or light and fun, these stories will quench that insatiable thirst for enchanting tales of the beautiful undead.
Some really great vampire short stories. Each one uses a different style to show vampires can love too. I would definitely suggest this to others if they are looking for a taste of how each other writes before picking up their other novels. I am new to Ms. Mead and Ms. Cast, but the others I have read before.
Sunshine – Richelle Mead author of The Vampire Academy Series
This is a great short story about the choices one has to make when they are with one person, but feel they are meant to be with another. I would love to read more about Eric and Rhea – they are so cute together. Their relationship seems like it would be a beautiful one. Also, I love that Richelle has different types of vampires – Moroi (living/mortal vampires) and Strigoi (undead vampires) – I think I need to read The Vampire Academy Series to learn more about them.
Bring Me To Life – Alyson Noel author of The Immortals Series
At first I thought this story was going to be very Dracula-esque and just be a slight remake of Bram's story, but it actually turned out to be very different from that. I loved that Dani finds her love again, even though she didn't know she was searching for it really. I don't want to give away spoilers so I will leave it at that.
Above – Kristin Cast author of The House of Night Series
Very graphic in nature, but also very emotional. The story of the girl from Below and the boy from Above. Of finding the one who completes you and then losing them. A bloody version of Romeo & Juliet perhaps?
Hunting Kat – Kelley Armstrong author of The Darkest Power Series
Experimental genetic engineering – using people who carry dormant genetics for vampirism – very interesting concept. I loved reading about the differences that Kat has from traditional vampires we read about like super human strength and being about to sit in the daylight. Also, enjoyed reading about the possible love interest after being captured by the group responsible for making Kat a vampire.
Lilith – Francesca Lia Block author of the Weetzie Bat/Dangerous Angels Series
A vampiric take on the Ugly Duckling story. Lilith shows Paul Michael that he doesn't have to be ridiculed by the bullies any longer, that he can now escape their wrath and the pain they caused him. But in the end is it worse to be alone in his new world or be stuck back in his old one?
This looks so good! Can't wait to read it!
