Assassin of Truths by Brenda DrakePublished: February 6, 2018Publisher: Entangled TeenPages: 403Received: from publisher for honest reviewThe gateways linking the great libraries of the world don’t require a library card, but they do harbor incredible dangers.
And it’s not your normal bump-in-the- night kind. The threats Gia Kearns faces are the kind with sharp teeth and knifelike claws. The kind that include an evil wizard hell-bent on taking her down.
Gia can end his devious plan, but only if she recovers seven keys hidden throughout the world’s most beautiful libraries. And then figures out exactly what to do with them.
The last thing she needs is a distraction in the form of falling in love. But when an impossible evil is unleashed, love might be the only thing left to help Gia save the world.
Finally!!! It's here! The final book in the Library Jumpers series by Brenda Drake. I have been waiting for this. I couldn't wait to get back to both of Gia's worlds. Following Gia through the many wondrous libraries in the world to retrieve the keys that will help her save both worlds is exactly what I needed. Not only do you get to explore such beautiful libraries, but you get to learn some history from inside each one as she jumps between them searching for clues to what her grandfather left behind for her.
Don't forget the added wonders of the Fey realm, the Mystik havens and covens, the Sentinels she fights beside and the love triangle that is/was Gia, Arik and Bastien. So much happening at one time, but also so engaging and exciting. Gia has a lot of tough decisions to make in a short amount of time, many of which effect her personally and many that affect both worlds. The weight is heavy on her shoulders, yet she seems capable of holding up under such a heavy load with the help of her friends and loved ones.
Much of the book is fast paced as it's a race to find the missing objects that act as keys to unlock the Tetrad. And since the one who unleashes the monsters can control them, it's a race to beat Conemar to the end. Between the weight of the worlds on he shoulders, Gia also has the task of dealing with her ever growing feelings for Bastien and her need to fix things with Arik so that they can still work together. As always my favourite secondary characters are the book faeries and the Sentinels, Demos and Jaran.
Yes, many lives are lost, some I'm not over losing yet, but it was for the greater good after all. Many of the characters we've loved to hate will surprise you in the end, and others get what they deserve. My high hopes were kept in check with this book. Ms. Drake did not let me down in this final chapter of Gia's story.

ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed it. I have a thing for books featuring libraries in any way. This was a very fun use of libraries.
