Weekly Feature here at Snowdrop Dreams of Books where authors and bloggers share what five books and what five other items they would want with them if they were ever stuck on a deserted island and why they chose them. Some posts are serious, some are extremely silly and some are mixture. Check back every week to see what your favourite authors and bloggers would pick. Click here if you would like to participate.
I have been spending a lot of time checking out the posts at Nose Graze lately, that I decided I should ask Ashely if she would like to participate in Deserted Island. And she said YES! I am thrilled because I absolutely love everything she posts on her blog.
So without further ado, here are Ashley's Deserted Island picks!
What five books would you want with you if ever on a Deserted Island, and why?
1. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
2. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
3. Harry Potter and the Half Blood Price
4. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
5. Parallel by Lauren Miller
I
know choosing Harry Potter is probably so cliché, but it makes the most
sense for me! Harry Potter is the one series that I can read again and
again, and never get tired of it. Plus, the books are all very long,
so they would keep me occupied for a long time. (I don't like the first
3 books much, which is why I didn't include those.) Then for my fifth
book, I felt like I had to choose a standalone because I would be
annoyed if I just got one book from a duology/trilogy. I went with
Parallel by Lauren Miller because it was the first standalone I thought
of that totally rocked my world! Parallel universes--awesome!
What five items would you want, and why?
1.
A swiss army knife - I think this is pretty self explanatory! I'm sure
it would come in handy for building my shelter, hunting, and self
defense! A must-have.
2. Sleeping bag - It's important to be warm and snuggly at night.
I think I could make do without a tent, but a sleeping bag is super
important to keep warm. Plus I value quality sleep!
3. First aid kid - I'm not going to survive long if I get injured and have nothing to help.
4. A dragon! Can I pick a dragon? I want one! It would be useful
for transportation, starting fires, cooking food, and even hunting.
Hopefully it wouldn't turn around and decide to eat me, but we could
cross that bridge when we come to it.
5. My fiancé, Coding God! I don't think I could survive without
him -- deserted island or no. ;) (I hope he don't mind me calling him
an "item" hehehe.)
About Ashely:
I’m a 23 year old female
splitting my time between California and the United Kingdom. I’ve
always loved reading, ever since before I can remember. I didn’t go out
with friends or even sit with people at lunch in high school. I spent
all day every day in the library, reading book after book after book.
When I’m not reading, I’m web designing, drawing, gaming, or doing other kinds of blogging! I work as a freelance web designer and absolutely love creating new websites!
If you're interested in the world of young adult, fantasy, and romance, consider checking out my book blog, Nose Graze!
