Hallowe'en Sucks Says Lily Drake

VAMPIRES

The topic for this blog hop is Vampires, but it was open to anything about vampires. So being that I host a book blog and I'm excited to read The Life & Death of Lily Drake - I thought I would write about some of the great vampire books out there that I've read over the years (some I've reviewed and some I have not).

-ReVamped by Ada Adams - this is a really fun read, great characters (shout out to the Misfits), a love triangle like no other, and quickly paced. I'm really looking forward the next book in the series, ReAwakened. (read my review here)

-God Save The Queen by Kate Locke - this is a steampunk paranormal with a sassy heroine, emotionally charged scenes and quite an amazing alternate world of London. (read my review here)

-Interview With A Vampire by Anne Rice - what's there to say about Interview - one of the first vampire books that I fell in love with and still my all time fave Rice book - fell in love with Louis and his inability to let go of the mortal part of himself.

-Undead and Unwed by MaryJanice Davidson - honestly I love this whole series, but this is the one that started it all - Betsy becoming Queen of the Vampires, still rocking her love for name brand shoes, snarky as all get out, and not putting up with any paranormal bullshit. Seriously great chick lit.

-Drink, Slay, Love by Sarah Beth Durst - a great YA vampire novel filled with teen angst, excitement, unicorns, a love triangle AND another sassy kick ass heroine. (read my review here)

And here is the list of vampire books that I am looking forward to reading (some are in my TBR pile and some are on my wishlist).

-The Life & Death of Lily Drake by T. Michelle Nelson - "The Life and Death of Lily Drake is not your typical vampire love story. It’s a tale about the humorous mistakes a woman makes simply trying to survive not only life, but the dating scene.  How will Lily manage working full-time, taking care of her young son and fighting the undead at every turn? Lily will have to figure it out, but who better to save the world than a mom?" - from the blurb posted at Ink Spell Publishing

-Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris - this has been in my TBR pile forever and I really need to get to it. I started watching season one of True Blood, but I prefer to have read the books before watching movies or TV shows - guess I need to get on that soon so I can keep watching True Blood

-Descended by Blood by Angeline Kace - this is another that has been in my TBR pile for too long and funny thing is I was super excited to order this book, because I've heard amazing about it from a handful of my fave bloggers like The Bookish Brunette, so I know it's going to be good - maybe I need a vampire catch up month?!?

-Vamplayers by Rusty Fischer - another recommendation from The Bookish Brunette - I have started this book once before, but got sidetracked with blog tours and such, so I must pick this up and get through it soon - it's supposed to be amazing!

-The Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa - since I love her Iron fey Series so much, I figure her vampire series has to be just as amazing so this one is on my wishlist!
