Five Things/Five Books I’d have to have on a deserted island… As told by Kate Delwen, vampire, from Blood Feud by L.A. Freed
Stranded on the proverbial desert island, what five things do I bring with me? First and foremost I’d have to say a (1)Wilson Volleyball. It worked for Tom Hanks in Cast Away, and I probably would need someone to talk to, even if it is a volleyball. Second is something nobody ever thinks of but I’d bring it. Toilet Paper. Oh, wait a sec, I’m a vampire and I don’t have a need for toilet paper, so let’s scratch that and bring along the trusted (2) Fishing Pole. Fish blood will suffice to fill my nutritional needs. And I know you are now thinking Sunblock, but I’m one of those immortals that can walk in the sun, but I don’t sparkle, so I’m going to need a (3) Beach Chair and (4) Umbrella. Hey, with my toes in the water and my ass in the sand, with that wonderful volleyball and fishing pole in my hand what else do I need? Maybe a Swiss Army Knife, just because it’s got that little corkscrew wine bottle opener ;)
And books, what five books might I bring along? Cosmos by Carl Sagan. I’m sure I’ll be looking at the stars a lot so it would be a good time to read this one again. Swan Song, Wolf’s Hour and Boy’s Life by Robert McCammon, because these are books I can read again and again and again. And finally, The Vampire Hunter’s Daughter by Jennifer Malone Wright because I’d like to kick Chloe’s ass.
