Ivy:
A deserted island with no people or items to give me terrifying
visions? That sounds like a vacation.
Jinx:
You have to choose five things to bring with you.
Ivy:
What if I don’t want to?
Jinx:
Tough.
Ivy:
*sigh* Okay, then I will bring…a pair of gloves, jeans, a t-shirt,
bottled water, and coffee.
Jinx:
You’re not bringing me? Who will make your coffee and fish for
food?
Ivy:
Oh, right. I need a French press for making the coffee.
Jinx:
You are so dead.
Ivy:
Okay, fine. But I can’t give up my gloves. What if something
washes ashore? No way am I touching some strange object without my
gloves.
Jinx:
What if a certain hot kelpie king washes ashore?
Ivy:
Like I said, I need my gloves.
Jinx:
There is seriously something wrong with you.
Ivy:
Yes, being cursed with second sight and psychometry are not normal
problems.
Jinx:
I was referring to your nonexistent love life.
Ivy:
This deserted island is sounding better by the second.

Ivy:
Five books?
I
would bring Lady Lisbeth’s Encyclopedia of Edible Plants and
Medicinal Herbs, Ars Goetia (a grimoire with descriptions of over
seventy-two demons), Bestiarum Vocabulum and the Aberdeen Bestiary
(compendiums of lesser known creatures), and Unseelie Law and Court
Etiquette (information that may come in handy, especially if Mab ever
returns to her court) You can never be too prepared.
