The Lady in Black… burns Sera’s memories.
Unexplainable Premonitions… catapult her to other cities.
The Grungy Gang… wants to kill her.
And a beautiful, mysterious boy… stalks her.
But when Sera moves to Chicago, and her aunt reveals their family connection to a centuries old, secret society, she is immediately thrust into an unbelievable fantasy world, leading her on a quest to unravel the mysteries that plague her. In the end, their meanings crash into an epic struggle of loyalty and betrayal, and she’ll be forced to choose between the boy who has stolen her heart and the thing she desires most.
Wander Dust is the breathtaking fantasy that will catapult you through a story of time, adventure, and love.
So many secrets and so much excitement! Wander Dust captivated me from the very beginning with all of the mysterious happenings surrounding Sera - from her things that make her think she is going crazy to the mysterious people and items that just keep popping up in her life.
I love that Sera had no idea that she belonged to a secret group of people with abilities beyond normal comprehension. It made her character that much more engaging. Sera finds about about wandering at the same time as the reader and I think that helps to connect with her. I think it was a great way to explain the main theme of the book.
The story is very well written and is not confusing at all, unlike other books involving this theme (everything is explained very clearly). Wander Dust brings you to some amazing places and builds up detail that is believable and magical all at the same time. Between real places we know and love and the magical Academy with it's intricate machines that remind me of something from a steampunk novel, the story moves quickly always keeping you wanting more.
Sera to me is a great character - smart, sassy, quick witted, and much more like a 16 year old than other books I've read. And I am beginning to love the interaction with her team/friends, especially with Bishop (the British hottie) and Sam (the little sister Sera never had). The three have this amazing bond and an "I've got your back" spirit.
I am really looking forward to book two in the series and cannot wait to see what trouble and adventures await Sera, Bishop and Sam.
And look at that cover - doesn't that alone make you want to know what Wander Dust is all about with all the sparkles?
