Deserted Island: Author Cassandra Dean

Weekly Feature here at Snowdrop Dreams of Books where authors and bloggers share what five books and what five other items they would want with them if they were ever stuck on a deserted island and why they chose them. Some posts are serious, some are extremely silly and some are mixture. Check back every week to see what your fave authors and bloggers would pick.
Today I would like to welcome author Cassandra Dean to the blog and thank her for participating in my Deserted Island feature!

What five books would you want to have with you if stuck on a deserted island?

Lord of Scoundrals by Loretta Chase
I love this book with the fiery passion of a thousand really passionate suns. Loretta Chase is just da bomb, and this book is pretty much the pinnacle of her awesomeness. Also, this book has delivered me bosom buds as we discussed and gloried its greatness. IT IS JUST THAT GOOD.

Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte
As a kid, I borrowed this book a lot from the library. A lot. I feel I should not be without it, ever.

The Naked Chef by Jamie Oliver
Dudes. Have you SEEN the roast chicken recipe?  I'm sure there will be native chickens running around this deserted island. Surely one must know how to cook them into deliciousness?

Exit Strategy by Kelley Armstrong
I bought this book on my three month trip around Europe and read it over and over again. Who am I to say it can't come with me to a deserted island?

How to Escape a Deserted Island and Win Yourself a Legion of Fans by Anonymous
I don't know if this one actually exists, but I feel it would be fairly handy :)

What five items/things would you want to have with you?
A never-ending packet of Tim Tams
Australia's most prized export. You may not have heard of them. If not, thank the gods, my friends, because once you've sampled, you will never get them off your mind.

My pillow
I travelled the world sans my beautiful pillow and lamented the lack to all who would listen (and sometimes, even those who wouldn't)

27 different types of cameras to capture the scenery
Because it's not truly magnificent landscape unless you have seen umpteen different versions of it

A matchbox and a packet of chewing gum
Because that's all MacGyver would need to escape a deserted island, and I reckon I could give him a run for his money.

Thank you for this opportunity, Chrystal!

I love the MacGyver reference!

About the author:
Cassandra grew up daydreaming, inventing fantastical worlds and marvelous adventures. Once she learned to read (First phrase – To the Beach. True story), she was never without a book, reading of other people’s fantastical worlds and marvelous adventures.

Fairy tales, Famous Fives, fantasies and fancies; horror stories, gumshoe detectives, science fiction; Cassandra read it all. Then she discovered Romance and a true passion was born.

So, once upon a time, after making a slight detour into the world of finance, Cassandra tried her hand at writing. After a brief foray into horror, she couldn’t discount her true passion. She started to write Romance and fell deep.

The love affair exists to this very day.

  2. Thanks, Jessica! I had to think long and hard about this one...especially the bit about MacGyver. I mean, his brain is just so unfathomable, how could I ever hope to imitate?? :D
