BOOK ADAPTATIONS AND MEDIA MARVELS

I've seen this book around for a while and I realize that it was made into a movie - I'm curious about it. Though I really like reading the book version first, because if I see the movie first I generally never make it back to read the book. Anyone read this or watched the movie - any thoughts?
