No, No, Gnome! by Ashlyn AnsteePublished: February 9, 2016Publisher: Simon & Schuster for Young ReadersPages: 40Received: as a gift from Simon & Schuster CanadaFind Online: S&S Canada | Goodreads | Amazon | ChaptersGnome cannot wait to help his friends harvest the school garden! But his eagerness and excitement get him into trouble, leaving them all saying, “No, no, Gnome!”
My daughter, Spencer, received this book as a welcome to the world gift from the lovely team at Simon & Schuster when she was born at the end of June. She is finally getting into books, paying attention to the pages and looking at the colours and drawings while listening to me reading the story out loud to her.
So loves the bright pictures in No, No, Gnome! so much! And giggles as I read the story with fun expressions. I also talk about what we see on the pages, especially the ones without words that are meant to be observed.
For anyone with a young child, I think they would enjoy this book for the illustrations and then as they grow older they will learn to understand the lesson that the book provides. Gnome is an over enthusiastic student and actually does everything in excess and ruins the garden he and his classmates have grown. Realizing his mistake, he works hard to right everything and make his friends happy again.
Thank you Simon & Schuster Canada!

Aww that looks like such a cute book! I am glad your daughter is just starting to enjoy books that is such an exciting time!
ReplyDeleteI am excited that she is liking when I read to her now. We'll be reviewing more books now that she wants to look at the pictures with me. I cannot wait for her to be old enough to pick out books to read together. :) She has a wonderful library of books to choose from already.
