Romance Week: Guest Post with Naya Nikki

When I was put in touch with Naya Nikki to see if she was interested in being a part of Romance Week, she jumped at the chance and to my great surprise she actually wrote up a little something to go with all of my guest post ideas... so here they are. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts Naya.

Share what your characters could be doing years down the road after their happily ever after..

Hmmmm…I’ve never really thought about what about what my characters would be doing. I leave them to lead their own life after I finish writing them; because I feel like I have controlled them enough that they might start to resent me or rebel. I think Max and Amy will have expanded their family a lot more. The girls would be in school, I can see Phoebe being the studious one and Grace being the creative one.

With Ryan and Cassidy, I can see them having A LOT more children. Jayden would be in high school and the school’s top athlete. Brayden would be the shy studious one but he’d be good at something else boy-ish like cars, or something.

As for Jack he would be still travelling the world, making films but be very unsuccessful in love. I can see Grace not really wanting to be part of his life…but who knows. Like I said my characters have a mind of their own.

Your ideal Valentine's Day

My ideal Valentine’s Day, I’m not sure. It would have to be something personal because I feel relationships are something between two people not with the rest of the world. My Valentine’s Day this year consists of going to the cinema and watching far too many movies with my friends.

Why did you pick to write romance novels?

I’m a true romantic at heart and I’ve always loved romance novels. They just make me feel warm and satisfied by the end of the novel and that’s what I wanted for my readers. No matter what I’m reading or watching I am always rooting for a romance in the book/film/TV show.

I read somewhere once: Only write what you would read; so I thought why not, I would read a romance novel so why not write one? And that’s how Familiar Ties came about…
