I was contacted by CBC Books: Canada Writes to remind everyone that there is a Short Story Competition going on, but it ends on November 1st! I know it's not a lot of time, but thought I'd give it a shout out anyway - I'm even thinking about editing up a short story I've worked on in the past (if it fits within the parameters).
So here is the scoop:
CBC Short Story Competition - deadline quickly approaching (November 1)
Canadians have only a couple of days left before the deadline for
this year's CBC Short Story Competition. Prizes go to the best original,
unpublished work of short fiction we receive (between 1,200 and 1,500
words). First Prize is $6,000 from the Canada Council for the Arts, a
two-week writing residency at The Banff Centre, and publication in
enRoute magazine. More details here.
Competition opens: September 1, 2012
Deadline to submit: November 1 at 11:59 p.m. ET
