Playful and lighthearted with a subversive twist that is signature Lane Smith, IT'S A BOOK is a delightful manifesto on behalf of print in the digital age. This satisfying, perfectly executed picture book has something to say to readers of all stripes and all ages.
What a great little book about reading from a book versus new technology. I loved that the monkey was trying so hard to read his book and keeping his cool while the donkey irritates him to no end. I guess it's almost a satirical look at how kids are being brought up with the latest in technology that they might actually forget what books are. Maybe it shuld be marketed to an older group, like teens or adults, as much of the technology mentioned in the book does not affect children as young as four. I am sure they would love the pictures inside, but I think I'd stick to giving this book to adults for fun instead of children.
hahaha, a book about books about books! That sounds all kinds of awesome!
